��APP’s Environmental Science Technology program utilizes state-of-the-art laboratories and facilities to train you for lab and field work. Project-based learning provides hands-on research activities that complement the type of research you will be doing as an environmental science technician. Some of the material you will be learning includes:

Arcview software
Native plant studies
Conservation of natural resource
How to properly manage wetlands
Environmental sampling and analysis

Our program will prepare you for a wide variety of positions in the environmental science sector. By the time you graduate, you will be able to:

Collect air, water and soil samples
Monitor compliance with environmental regulations
Process and analyze samples in a laboratory setting

Dr. David Serrano

Dr. Serrano is a graduate of the University of Miami, where he received his BS in Biology and Chemistry, and the University of Florida, where we was awarded a master’s and doctoral degree in Entomology. He has worked on natural area monitoring and restoration at Everglades National Park, Lake Okeechobee, and the Florida State Park System. Dr. Serrano has also done contract work for the USDA in order to help protect American agriculture from exotic pests and diseases.
