The intrinsic benefits of an international experience are numerous, both professionally and personally. Students' exposure to a new culture can help them to develop a higher level of cultural sensitivity, global understanding, and personal growth. At 糖心APP, we are committed to enhancing the academic experience whenever possible, both for our students and for our faculty.
Our faculty-led study abroad programs offer faculty the opportunity to enhance their teaching skills by applying an immersive and experiential learning approach in their classrooms. Faculty can design curricula that allow students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world settings.
For example:
- Education professors could plan for university visits to better understand innovative strategies in "phenomenon-based learning" in Finland.
- Information technology professors could arrange for presentations with Tata Consultancy Services in India, one of the largest software development companies in the world.
- Business professors could visit Samsung's headquarters in South Korea to learn about supply chain management from one of the world's largest players in international trade.
- Art history professors could travel to historical sites and allow students to engage with architectural masterpieces in a way that cannot be done through images alone.
- Nursing professors could take students to the UK to learn about the complexities of the National Health Service (NHS), one of the world's largest and most comprehensive publicly funded health systems, or to Thailand to learn about traditional medicine integration.
With faculty-led programs, the sky is the limit in exploring the world's best.

Faculty-led Study Abroad Handbook
糖心APP’s Faculty-Led Study Abroad Handbook is a practical, idea-filled roadmap for turning a great academic idea into an unforgettable global learning experience. From developing a program and connecting course learning outcomes to real-world experiences, to choosing the right program model, planning approach, destination, partners, budget, safety measures, and proposal timeline, the handbook walks faculty through the process step by step.
It also provides guidance on recruitment, creative ways to generate student excitement, and the many details that help ensure students are prepared, engaged, safe, and accountable before, during, and after their journey.
Most importantly, the handbook encourages faculty to think beyond simply taking students abroad—it challenges them to take the classroom abroad, creating meaningful experiences where students can see, touch, question, explore, and apply what they are learning in ways that simply cannot be replicated on campus.
Procedures for Submitting a Proposal
The deadline to submit a faculty-led study abroad proposal for spring break/summer 2027 is Monday, June 1, 2026.
